As a molecular ecologist, Kevin conducted research on the diet of lions in Kenya during his PhD using DNA analysis. He investigated the extent to which fences around a National Park influence the diet of fenced and unfenced lions. Additionally, Kevin, along with his twin brother (also a biologist), leads many nature excursions and engages in other nature experiences under the name “De Gebroeders Groen” (The Green Brothers). Furthermore, Kevin has authored a book about nature in Eastern Europe (The Wild Wild East).
After completing his PhD, Kevin works as a Postdoc at Leiden University for the Centre for Environmental Sciences (CML). Here, he is involved in various projects, including research on the diet of wolves in the Netherlands and genetic research on plant-pollinator networks. Additionally, Kevin volunteers at Vogelklas Karel Schot, where injured birds are rehabilitated.
